California Junior Racquetball Players Shine at World Championships

The California Nevada Racquetball Association (CNRA) is proud to announce that 19 of its Junior 

Racquetball players were part of the USA Racquetball Junior Team that competed at the 34th IRF World 

Junior Racquetball Championships in Tarija, Bolivia, from November 11th to the 18 this year. 

The CNRA juniors, who came from both Northern and Southern California, represented 63% of the 30-

member USA team that faced tough competition from 11 other countries, including the host nation Bolivia.

Despite the challenges of traveling to a high-altitude location, adapting to a different culture, and playing 

against some of the best junior racquetball players in the world, the CNRA juniors showed their skills, 

spirit, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The CNRA congratulates all the junior racquetball players who participated in the World Junior 

Championships and thanks them for their dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport. The CNRA also 

thanks the U.S. Junior Team staff, the parents, the private coaches, and the volunteers who supported the 

team throughout the event.

To qualify for Team USA, players competed at the USA Racquetball Junior National Festival and 

Championships, which this year was at the Bay Club- Pleasanton, CA. It will be there again in 2024. To 

qualify in singles, it is the top two players. To qualify in doubles, it is the winner. If those that qualify can 

not make the event, runner ups may move up.

In the team competition in Boys, Girls and Overall, all three fished with 1) Bolivia 2) Mexico 3) USA. 

The CNRA is committed to increasing junior participation in racquetball and providing opportunities for 

junior players to develop their skills, compete at local, national, and international levels, and enjoy the sport 

for a lifetime.
